Desktop app, for good

Installed on your computer, every Pro tool, offline, with no expiry. One licence runs on one device.

One licence, one device. A key binds to the first device that activates it and is refused on any other. Clearing your browser does not free it. To move a licence to a new computer, contact us with the key.

Buying the desktop app

  1. Open the reader and press any Pro tool, or See Pro in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Choose Desktop app, for good and pay $99 with PayPal or card.
  3. Copy your key — it starts with TSP-. A copy also goes to your PayPal email. The browser you paid in is already unlocked.
  4. Press Download for your system. The download only appears once your paid licence is confirmed on that device.
  5. Install it using the steps for your system below, open it, and paste the key when it asks.

Lost the installer, or reinstalling? Open the reader on the same device and press Get the app in the bottom bar. There is nothing more to pay.

Installing on a computer

Windows

  1. Open the downloaded .msi or .exe.
  2. If Windows protected your PC appears, choose More info → Run anyway. This shows for new publishers and does not mean anything is wrong.
  3. Follow the installer, then open TechSyntar pdfReadEdit from the Start menu.
  4. Paste your key. To make it the default for PDFs: right-click a PDF → Open with → Choose another app.

macOS

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag the app into Applications.
  2. The first time, right-click the app → Open, then Open again. macOS asks this once for apps from outside the App Store.
  3. If it still refuses: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
  4. Paste your key.

Linux

  1. For the .AppImage: right-click → Properties → Allow executing, or run chmod +x TechSyntar*.AppImage.
  2. Double-click to run. For the .deb: sudo apt install ./techsyntar-pdf*.deb.
  3. Paste your key.

Installing on a phone or tablet

The reader installs straight from the browser, with its own icon, and works offline after the first launch. This is free — a Pro pass or account then unlocks the Pro tools inside it.

Android

  1. Open the reader in Chrome.
  2. Tap Install app at the bottom, or the menu ⋮ → Install app.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the reader in Safari.
  2. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
